Former NFL player Pacman Jones, who spent part of his 13-year career with the Dallas Cowboys, found himself in legal trouble while in Dallas for the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson fight.
According to The Athletic, Jones was arrested early Saturday morning and booked into the Arlington City Jail. He faces charges of assault on a peace officer, public intoxication, evading arrest, and resisting arrest.
The incident reportedly began at the bar inside the Live! by Loews hotel, located about half a mile from AT&T Stadium. Police said an altercation broke out at the bar, and Jones was among those involved.
When an Arlington police officer arrived, hotel staff informed her of the fight. Jones and others had been separated by the time she reached the scene. Despite being warned to de-escalate and stop confronting the other individuals involved, Jones allegedly continued to approach them, shouting.
Another fight broke out shortly thereafter, and as the officer and hotel security tried to intervene, Jones allegedly struck the officer on her arm. When she attempted to handcuff him, Jones broke free and started walking away. Additional officers were called in and took him into custody.
Jones, who has pursued a media career since retiring from the NFL, including appearances on The Pat McAfee Show and hosting his own podcast, now faces serious legal challenges.
Surveillance footage from the hotel may provide further insight into the events leading up to the arrest.
