According to The Sun , Consumers should plan ahead this holiday season as many major retailers, including Nordstrom, will close their doors for Thanksgiving Day. All 360 Nordstrom locations will shut down for 24 hours on Thursday, November 28, to observe the national holiday.
Thanksgiving, always celebrated on the fourth Thursday in November, will see many stores closing to allow employees to spend time with their families. Alongside Nordstrom, department stores like Macy’s, Kohl’s, Belk, and JCPenney will remain closed for the day.
However, eager shoppers can still catch deals during Black Friday. Nordstrom will extend its hours, opening early and closing late on the Friday after Thanksgiving. Consumers can visit Nordstrom’s website for up-to-date store hours, which will be posted one week before Thanksgiving.
For those planning to shop on Thanksgiving Day itself, other major retailers such as TJ Maxx, Marshalls, and Home Goods will also be closed. But Black Friday will bring an early start, with JCPenney opening at 5 AM local time and stores like Belk, Home Goods, TJ Maxx, and Marshalls opening at 7 AM.

As for grocery shopping, many supermarkets will also close on Thanksgiving. Popular chains like Publix, Trader Joe’s, Walmart, and Target won’t be open. However, stores such as Aldi, BJ’s, and Costco will be closed as well.
For last-minute Thanksgiving grocery needs, select stores like Albertsons, Food Lion, H.E.B., Kroger, and Whole Foods will remain open, though with limited hours.
To help with holiday meal preparations, Walmart is offering kitchen flash deals starting as low as $12.88, and Costco members will find their favorite holiday items back on shelves, including a popular $19.99 treat, known for its delicious topping.
