According to Vibes.okdiario The Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (D-SNAP) is available to help Florida families impacted by natural disasters. If you live in certain counties, you may qualify for assistance to help fight food insecurity during tough times. However, the deadline to apply for D-SNAP is quickly approaching.
Pre-Registration Deadline: November 8
For counties including Sarasota, Polk, Pinellas, Pasco, Manatee, Hernando, and Charlotte, pre-registration for D-SNAP benefits will be open until November 8 at 11:59 p.m. The process is simple and can be completed online, but it’s important to act now to avoid waiting until the last minute when high traffic could slow down the system.
Once you’ve submitted your online pre-registration, you must also complete a phone interview to finalize your application.
Phone Interview Process
After registering online, applicants must call the D-SNAP Call Center at (888) 348-0408 to finish the application process. The call center is open from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. ET, but note that the office will be closed on Election Day, so plan to make your call before or after the holiday.
Be sure to call on the day corresponding to the first letter of your last name:
- Last names starting with G-N: Call on Wednesday, November 6
- Last names starting with O-Z: Call on Thursday, November 7
- All last names: Call on Friday, November 8
Don’t Miss Out
D-SNAP provides crucial food assistance for families affected by disasters. Be sure to complete both the online registration and the phone interview by the November 8 deadline to secure your benefits. Act quickly to ensure you don’t miss this valuable support.
