According to The Sun , A Harley-Davidson dealership in Rosemont, Illinois, is set to close after plans to relocate fell through. The Windy City Motorcycle Company, which opened its two-story showroom in Parkway Bank Park in 2019, will close its doors after a recent decline in retail sales led to the closure of several Harley-Davidson locations nationwide.
The dealership’s building, located in the village entertainment district, has been purchased for $6 million, with a new use planned for the site. Originally, the dealership had planned to move to a new location near the Allstate Arena, but those plans have now been abandoned. Windy City owner Ozzie Giglio announced that the dealership will instead be replaced by a new store in Villa Park. All inventory, including bikes, clothing, and accessories, will be moved out by the end of the year.
The Rosemont location is set to close on January 10, with the building’s first floor to be transformed into a new restaurant and the second floor to remain office space. Mayor Brad Stephens has teased that the new restaurant will offer a concept that is unlike anything currently in the entertainment district, with an expected opening in early 2026 following renovations throughout 2025.
The closure in Rosemont follows a series of store closures, including the dealership’s locations in Palatine and Wrigleyville. In other Harley-Davidson news, the company is expanding its global presence through a partnership with Dorna Sports, the company behind the Grand Prix races in Spain. This collaboration is expected to bring Harley-Davidson’s iconic bikes to international racetracks, including an all-electric line of high-performance maxi-scooters, set to hit the market in 2026.
In a related development, Gettel’s Lincoln showroom in Punta Gorda, Florida, is also preparing to close in December, with locals speculating that it struggled to compete with other dealerships in the area.
